Invisible characters are the reason a search that should match does not, a password that looks right is rejected, and a diff shows a change on a line nobody touched. They arrive by copying from a web page, a PDF or a chat client, and by definition you cannot see them to delete them. This page strips them and reports how many it found, while leaving your punctuation exactly as you wrote it.
How to Remove Invisible Characters from Text
- 1
Paste the text you suspect has hidden characters into the left pane.
- 2
The count of invisible characters removed appears above the output.
- 3
Curly quotes and dashes are left alone here — switch that option on if you want them converted too.
- 4
Copy the clean text, or download it as a file.
Why Use TextsPro
Everything is processed in your browser, so credentials, API keys and unpublished copy — exactly the kind of text that gets pasted into a cleaner — are never transmitted. Zero-width spaces, joiners and byte order marks are removed outright; non-breaking, thin, hair and ideographic spaces become ordinary spaces; line and paragraph separators become real newlines; and stray control characters are dropped. Punctuation is deliberately left untouched on this page, because when you are hunting an invisible character you rarely want your quotation marks silently rewritten at the same time.
